You Still Believe We Live In A Free Country

Recorded Live at PorcFest 2010

Lyrics by Rich Angell

Eve of Destruction written by P. F. Sloan

vocals, guitar, harmonica by Rich Angell

Music Only

People are dyin'.
People are hurtin',
'Cept the world bankers, oil barons, and Haliburton.
Well, pay close attention,
To that man behind the curtain.
Weve been fooled and enslaved,
And that's for certain.
Were playin' now with fire,
We are flirtin with disaster,
We're all about to lose our shirt,

And ya tell me over and over,
And over again, my friend,
Ah you still believe,
We live in a free country.

When I decry the war,
you go and call me dumb.
You say we're over there,
Fightin for our freedom.
Well, name one freedom,
That weve gained
From all this bleedin'
While people rot in in prison,
For possession of a weed.
And the cops go on tazin',
Shootin' and beatin',
And the constitutions taking,
A back seat,

And ya tell me over and over,
And over again, my friend,
Ah you still believe,
We live in a free country.

The public fool system,
And their so-called education,
Its a sure fire way,
To subvert a once free nation.
Well, Hitler himself,
would just grin with elation,
At how far we've all come,
with this indoctrination.
While the Congress they keep on
passin' legislation,
Without reading the bills,
Or deliberation.
While screwing the people,
Promoting corporations,
And the fed's funny money,
Is the root of all inflation.

And you tell me over and over,
And over again, my friend,
Ah you still believe,
We live in a free country.

You wave your little flag,
And claim that we are free.
But what can you do,
Without a license or a fee?
Or a tax or a permit or a number or decree?
Or a thumbprint, inspection, injection,
Spy chip, retina scan, body scan,
Body cavity search, bend over and cough?
What ever happened to my beloved republic?
Or a note from your mommy,
Are you kidding me?
Well a free range cattle,
Isn't really free.

And ya tell me over and over,
And over again, my friend,
Ah you still believe,
We live in a free country.

I don't see any lighters.
That's more like it.

You have the nerve to tell me,
If I don't like it here,
I should go somewhere like China,
Or North Korea,
At least we have our movies,
Ballgames and beer.
Well let me tell you brother,
You have no idea.
We nott really free,
even if were freer.
Well I hear that Mars,
Is nice this time of year.

And ya tell me over and over,
And over again, my friend,
Ah you still believe,
We live in a free country.

We still live,
in a free country.

The answer my friend is blowing in the wind.
The answer is blowing in the wind.

You Gave Your Brain to Freedomain

vocals: Stefan Molyneux
Keyboard: Lauren Canario

You once had thoughts of your own, seems that was far too hard;
You reasoned on your own brain like a pound of lard;
It was far to great a strain, just using your own brain;
So you're logging on to the FDR website.

You gave your brain to Freedomain;
Now all your thoughts seem bald and gay.
You're accent slides towards British.
To doubt you are skittish.
The next podcast will fill your ears,
Calm your fears.

You say I'm lost in Freedomain.
Yet reasoning has set me free.
When I listen to thoughts from first princples
The golden sun of truth is me.

The Ballad of Freedomain Radio

Music Only

FDR 500
by Stefan Molyneaux

Podcasts endless,
Fairly superstancial.
Speech tsunami,
Totaly tangental.
Filling up your brain,
Hopefully not too insane.

Silent Stefan is an oxymoron
Mouth propped wide like a door frame with no door on.
Endless squeeky words like a flock of manic birds.
Rationality has never seemed so dense,
so listen to the big chatty forehead.

Close your eyes and surrender to the endless rants.
Crowd out all other media from view.
Pray to gah...wait, dont do that... that it's all true.
If it's not youll be in shit with no canoe.

God and free will can our lives be fated
Jesus, mises, it's all been debated.
All podcasts of note are impossible to quote.
Search in vain for what you think he might have said,
Youll never catch the big chatty forehead.

Let you mind start a journey through a strange new world.
Leave all thoughts of the world you knew before.
Let your soul take you where you long to be,
Only then will you donate to me.

Reason, ethics, science and the senses,
True self, courage, no psuedo defenses,
Speak whats in your mind,
Trust yourself and you will find,
There is strength in goodness what you truly see
That truth and virtue really set you free.

So try to eat the growing loaf of bread,
Of podcasts from the big chatty forehead.

NEW HAMPSHIRE BOUND
COPYRIGHT 2009 by Sam A. Robrin or whoever the hell it is who writes these things. Go ahead and use it, but if you make a little money on it, I want some!

Lyrics and Song: Richard Onley
vocals: John E. Ray
Keyboard: Lauren Canario

I'm

New Hampshire bound.

There'd be no point

In hanging round.

At home they want to humiliate me,

At school they want to indoctrinate me,

The law has plans to subjugate me,

So I'm New Hampshire bound.

I'm

New Hampshire bound.

If I should stay,

I'd soon be drowned

In laws, decrees, codes, regulations,

Tenets, dictates, obligations--

Parents', Church's, school's, the nation's.

I'm New Hampshire bound.

              Freedom-minded people from everywhere

              Are liquidating and moving there,

              Their common purpose: to create

A permanent, irrevocably "Live Free" State

I'm

New Hampshire bound.

No freer soil

Is to be found--

Rid of evil good intentions,

Governmental interventions,

Clearly ill-conceived conventions,

I'm New Hampshire bound.

Liberty-loving ladies have
    A tough time meeting men.
I often run across a guy
    Who looks a perfect ten.
But though he has the body of
    A Marvel super-hero,
In terms of ideology,
    He'll rate a whopping zero.

While in a bar, I met a guy
    With ample looks and charm.
We sat and roasted liberals,
He took me by the arm.
Inviting me to dinner,
He picked out a cozy place,
But threw a fit when I declined
    To join him saying grace.

I tried to date a college guy--
    A hunky type, but he'd
Absorbed in class a so-called
    "Radical" "progressive" creed.
I spoke my mind, he gasped, he scowled,
    Said, "You believe that?  Wow!
You're evil! You're a monster! You're . . ."
    Well, that's all over now.

I've trolled the bars, the campus, work,
    Stores, classes--and it seems
No place exists where I might find
The free man of my dreams.
No Meetup groups for liberty
(And you can bet I've checked).
Why can't I find a single single
    Man I can respect?

He needs a John Galt sense of pride,
     With Branden's romance, too,
V's hatred for the government,
    And Rothbard's market view,
The playful gift of Scaramouche,
    Defiance of Yossarian--
Goddess Eris, bless me with
    One standard libertarian!

I found the Free State Project
    Searching websites for Ron Paul.
It gave a whole new meaning to the
    Worn term "free-for-all."
The fellows in the photos weren't
    Exactly Grecian Gods.
Nine males to every female, though--
    I really like those odds!

I sold my house, I quit my job,
    I'm ready to set forth
And start a new, like-minded life
With free folks in the North.
I sent a pic to Free Talk Live
    And said I'm coming soon
To offer up a steaming slice
    Of fresh-moved Porcu-poon!

And we'll work for all we're worth for liberty.
As we know tomorrow's sun will rise,
We see, with hearts, as well as eyes,
That someday, someday soon, we will be free.

Suggested calls:

We are not afraid of you
Jail will only strengthen us
We will break the chains you forge
All your laws are paper threats
You can never jail our souls
We will never bow to you
In your power, you are weak
We do not belong to you
We forgive you for your crimes
Cage us, still our souls will soar
Drop your guns and join with us
Your corruption cannot last
You can change your evil ways
We can see right through your lies
Does your conscience bother you?
Your corruption cannot last
You can change your evil ways
We can see right through your lies
Truth is light that frightens you
Cam’ras show the truth you hide
We are not your property
Your corruption is exposed
Did you get your stories straight?
You can’t legislate at will
Yes, we will Live Free or Die
